Missing boater's family says he was having problems with money, depression

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - The family of a missing boater who was reported missing on Feb. 7 in New Smyrna Beach tells the Daytona Beach News-Journal that the man might have been depressed and suffering from financial problems.

Police say 48-year-old Enrique Hernandez, of Apopka, left home on Feb. 6 to go fishing in the Intracoastal Waterway. Police found his truck and boat trailer the next day at a nearby ramp, but after several days of searching were unable to find Hernandez or his boat.

Anyone with info on Hernandez's whereabouts is asked to call the New Smyrna Beach Police Department at 386-424-2220.
