Deputies say 1-year-old had not been fed or changed for days

COCOA, Fla. – A Brevard County mother is being bars after deputies say she left her baby at a suspected drug house for three days without being fed or changed.

Investigators said Ashley Baskett left the 1-year-old at a home on Bowman Street near Cocoa earlier this week.

Deputies said a neighbor found the baby on a mattress on the floor and called 911. Investigators identified the baby's mother and arrested her for child neglect.

Sheriff's deputies also said Baskett was in possession of methamphetamine.

A Brevard County deputy bought diapers and a bottle for the baby who is now being cared for by the Department of Children and Families.
