Mother, son struck by van at Orlando bus stop

Woman listed in critical condition at hospital

ORLANDO, Fla. – A mother and son waiting at a bus stop in Orlando were struck by a vehicle and injured, according to officials.

The crash happened Tuesday night near the Sand Lake Pointe Apartments off Sand Lake Road near Orange Avenue.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a van cut off a car in traffic and crashed into 27-year-old Belinda Hernandez and her 9-year-old son.

Hernandez was listed in critical condition.  Her son was seriously injured.

The FHP said the driver of the van was ticketed for failing to yield.
