Ormond Beach Police are investigating an armed robbery of an individual that occurred this morning at the above location. Upon arriving for work, a Jimmy Johns employee rode her bicycle around to the rear of the business, near the drive-thru window. She was approached by a lone suspect who pulled out a silver or chromed firearm and pistol whipped her about the head and facial area, demanding her cell phone. The suspect took the victims cell phone and fled on foot southbound on South Perrott Drive. Ormond Beach Police units, assisted by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office Air One helicopter, searched for the suspect but he was not located. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect is described as an unshaven black male in his 30's, thin build, short hair and approximately 6"5" tall. He was last seen wearing what was described as army green baggy clothes and a skull cap.
