ORLANDO, Fla. – Two Orlando doctors donated custom elf hats to newborns who will be spending the holiday in the Winnie Palmer Hospital.

Dr. Hamish Munro and Dr. Kevin De La Roza, the doctors who created the Electronic Access to Surgical Events app, stopped by the hospital to deliver the Christmas hats to babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.

The EASE app, which started in the operating room and has recently made its way to the NICU, was used during a C-section at Winnie Palmer Hospital for the first time, according to Orlando Health.

For families that are not able to spend this holiday weekend together, EASE can help bridge the gap by allowing nurses and doctors to share pictures, videos and updates of their patients.
