'Ninjas' sought in Florida pawn shop robbery attempt

Shots fired inside Value Pawn in Fern Park

FERN PARK, Fla. – Two men dressed in a similar fashion as ninjas opened fire inside a Seminole Count pawn shop in a failed robbery attempt.

The incident happened Tuesday at the Value Pawn on U.S. 17-92 in Fern Park.

According to Seminole County sheriff's deputies, workers and customers were inside the shop when the masked gunmen entered and filled a bag with cash and merchandise before trying to get out through a locked door.  When the door would not open, the gunmen shot at it, video shows.

The assailants then dropped everything they were trying to steal and ran out the back of the shop, deputies said.

A manager and customer suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A detailed description of the men was not released, but deputies say they fled in a stolen gray Ford Escape.

Anyone with information about the robbery attempt is urged to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
