ORLANDO, Fla. – Nissan has announced a recall of certain Altima vehicles from model years 2012 and 2012. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration discovered that the vehicles may have been equipped with transverse link bolts and power steering rack bolts that were not torqued to proper specification.
"The affected bolts could become loose and fall out which may lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash," NHTSA said in a letter to Nissan.

Nissan will notify owners affected by the recall beginning October 29th. Dealers will tighten the bolts to the proper specifications. The automaker has also told dealers to make repairs to any unsold cars included in the recall currently on their lots. NHTSA says the recall affects approximately 13,900 vehicles.
