No bond for husband of missing Volusia County mother

Luis Toledo charged with 2nd-degree murder

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Volusia County man charged with second-degree murder in his wife's disappearance was given no bond on Tuesday at his first appearance.

31-year-old Luis Toledo, the man at the center of the disappearance case of his wife, 28-year-old Yessenia Suarez, and her two children, was charged with second-degree murder on Monday night.

At his first appearance, Toldeo stared at his wife's family sobbing in the room.

Investigators said Toledo admitted to them he was arguing with Suarez Tuesday night, hitting her in the throat. He told deputies because of his training in martial arts, the blow killed her, but won't say where her body is.

On the morning of Suarez's disappearance, a neighbor says he followed Toledo to a Lake Mary grocery story where he says Toledo abandoned his wife's car.

No charges have been filed yet related to missing 8-year-old Michael Otto and 9-year-old Thalia Otto.

Toledo said someone else was involved in the death of Thalia and Michael, according to deputies.

Although the search for the three bodies is ongoing, Suarez and her two children, who vanished last week from their Deltona home, are presumed dead.

The search also continued on Tuesday for the missing family's bodies after deputies took a break on Monday to refocus. Suarez's family said they were upset about investigators stopping the search for the day.

Suarez's family tells Local 6 their focus is on Deltona and abandoned properties. The family said they will go out and search around the Lake Monroe area.
