No foul play in St. Cloud hospital incident

Police close case after locating man, woman

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – St. Cloud police on Monday said there was no foul play involved in an incident that was investigated as a possible abduction from a hospital.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Cloud Regional Medical Center.

According to police, a woman walked into the emergency room and asked for help.

Police said a man followed the woman, who appeared to be in distress, into the ER, grabbed her by the wrist and stated that she was drunk.  The man then pulled the woman from the emergency room to the parking lot and put her in a beige or grey Nissan or Saturn SUV driven by another woman, police said.

Witnesses said the woman tried to get out of the SUV as it was driving away, according to police.

St. Cloud police located the couple, who are in a relationship, on Monday and said the woman was intoxicated when she went to the hospital seeking help for the man.

The man said he didn't want treatment and left the hospital with his girlfriend.

Police said there was no foul play and the case has been closed.
