No one found after reports of suspect barricaded in Kissimmee home, police say

Police responding to area in Mill Run

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Kissimmee police responded to a possible standoff situation Thursday in the Mill Run neighborhood.

Police said they thought a suspect barricaded themselves inside a home near Oak Run Boulevard and Lund Avenue.

A spokesperson for Kissimmee police said the situation ended before 5 p.m. and no suspect was found after a SWAT team cleared the house.

Kissimmee Charter Academy was placed on lockdown during the incident.

"We have been asked to be on lockdown until further notice," a message to parents read. "Cannot accept calls or visitors. Please do not come to the school. All children and staff are safe."
