LARGO, Fla. – A Florida sheriff's deputy who wrote about "almost" shooting someone and followed it with "lol" was placed on administrative leave then fired on Thursday, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

A post shared by a Facebook user shows a photo of Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy Austen Callus with the caption: "Nothing like almost shooting someone to set your head right lol."

Sheriff's spokesman Spencer Gross told the Tampa Bay Times Thursday that Callus, 23, admitted to posting the photo to Snapchat on Sunday. He was fired Thursday, while still on probationary status.

It's unclear what Callus was referring to in the post. Gross said no further information would be available until the investigation is complete.

The photo was shared by Facebook user Joseph Ashley Wood, who questioned why the sheriff's office would hire someone "who wants to shoot someone just to get his head right."

This is the kind of cop Pinellas county sheriff's office hires? Someone who wants to shoot someone just to get his head...
