Ocala woman, 65, stabbed in attempted home invasion robbery

Man broke into home, demanded money, police say

OCALA, Fla. – Ocala police are searching for the culprit they say broke into a home and stabbed a 65-year-old woman in an attempted home invasion robbery.

Police said they found Connie Cordell with a stab wound in her chest sitting in a living room chair at a home on NW 2nd Avenue Tuesday morning just after 6:30 a.m.

Cordell told police an unknown man came into her home and demanded money from her and when she said she didn't have any, the man stabbed her and ran away.

Cordell was taken to the hospital and is undergoing surgery, listed in stable condition.
