Evacuation lifted after suspicious package report

ORLANDO, Fla. – Evacuations were ordered on Friday morning as Orlando fire officials investigated a suspicious package report that had Amtrak service halted for more than an hour.

The suspicious package was reported at 1400 Sligh Boulevard, which is listed as the Amtrak station, just before 11:30 a.m.

The Orlando Police Department said the report was sparked from an unattended bag left on a bench. The bomb squad said no hazard was found just before 12:30 p.m.

Sligh Boulevard was blocked off and Amtrak trains are stopped as the bomb squad investigates, according to the Orlando Fire Department. OFD said that evacuations were ordered around the perimeter.
