ORANGE CITY, Fla. – An off-duty Volusia County sheriff's deputy was arrested Sunday afternoon on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after an incident with his wife, the Sheriff's Office said.
Officials said Deputy Matthew Tremblay, 43, was arrested after the incident was reported to the Sheriff's Office around 1:56 p.m. in the Orange City area. No one was injured.
Tremblay was hired by the Sheriff's Office in 2004 and works in the Deltona district, where he is assigned to the motors unit.
Tremblay has been placed on administrative leave with pay as a result of his arrest.
