1998: Track star Florence Griffith-Joyner, a five-time Olympic medalist, including three gold medals at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, dies in her sleep as the result of an epileptic seizure at the age of 38 in Mission Viejo, California. She's seen here with President Ronald Reagan during a White House visit in 1988.
