According to the Orlando Sentinel, Orange County plans to apply for a $25,000 Fish and Wildlife Commission grant to help residents buy bear-resistant trash cans.

In addition, the county would match the grant with $25,000 from its general fund.

Bear-resistant bins can cost up to $300 and must work with the county's newly implemented automatic solid waste pickup.
