ORLANDO, Fla. -

An arrest was made Friday shortly after a purse-snatching at a hotel on International Drive.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said the robbery occurred at the Homewood Suites just after 11 a.m. Friday.

A search was conducted and a person matching the description of the assailant was located, deputies said.  The person was positively identified by witnesses, said deputies, who made the arrest.

Deputies said the robbery may be connected to an Orlando robbery earlier in the day, but it's not believed to be related to a string of hotel robberies throughout Central Florida.

Several area law enforcement agencies continue to investigate about a dozen armed robberies that have occurred since December at hotels and restaurants in Orange, Polk and Seminole counties.

A reward for information in the string of robberies was recenly increased to $15,000.
