Orange County deputies search for duo in armed robbery at Publix

Armed culprits on loose after Publix robbery

ORLANDO, Fla. – Deputies are searching for two armed robbers who held up the Publix off Sand Lake Rd Sunday night.

Deputies responded to the armed robbery around 10 p.m. Sunday just before the store closed its doors.

Deputies say one of the robbers disguised himself with a bandanna and the other suspect wore a hood. Customers say both culprits were armed with guns.

The culprits then walked up to customer service demanding cash and jumped in a getaway car waiting outside.

Shoppers say they are shocked by this crime happening in such a busy complex.

"This is really scary. This is a great part of town. great restaurants and very busy at all times. so very daring move," shopper Traci Kendall said.

Deputies released surveillance video of the robbery hoping someone will recognize the two robbers in the video. They plan to review the video outside to get a better description of the getaway car.
