Disney said it is evolving its security.

The patrols are not in response to any event in particular, according to officials.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said it has previously conducted mounted patrols at Disney Village, known as Disney Springs today, as part of its high visibility deployment strategy on a rotational basis.

"This was previously curtailed due to sanitary and health concerns approximately 2 years ago," the Sheriff's Office said. "Beginning in 2016, we have an opportunity to return to the Disney Springs guest frequented areas, with the use of horse manure bags addressing the health concerns, as part of our holiday plan and yearly deployments."

It's not clear how often the deputies will patrol the premises.

Sheriff Jerry L. Demings and Walt Disney World staff work together throughout the year, foremost during these discussions is to plan for law enforcement personnel presence, which is adequate for visitor and resident safety, according to the Sheriff's Office.

"Taken into account is the time of year visitor count increases, sporting events hosted, holiday celebrations and overall security reflective of world events," the Sheriff's Office said. "These discussions are continuously evolving and improved on as necessary. (Walt Disney World) will also work on their security needs based on their business model."
