Orange County Sheriff's Office partially evacuated over suspicious letter

Nothing hazardous found, officials say

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is evacuated.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office was partially evacuated Monday because of a suspicious letter but reopened a short time later.

In a tweet posted Monday morning, the Sheriff's Office said, "#Breaking suspicious letter found on W side of #ocso Central Ops. Orlando Fire in charge. Hazmat worker checking it out. Partial evacuation."

The Sheriff's Office later said nothing hazardous was found.

Video showed several people standing in the parking lot outside the Sheriff's Office, which is located at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Colonial Drive.

Traffic was not affected in the area.
