Orange County visitor tax revenue hits $11 million in September

Hotel tax revenues up nearly 5% from same period last year

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County's resort tax collections for September 2013 hit $11.7 million, that's up by nearly 5% year to year.

County Comptroller Martha Haynie made the announcement Monday. According to Haynie the tourist tax collections (resort tax) received by the County for the hotel collection month of September 2013 were $11,785,800.

According to Haynie, the "Tourist taxes are charged on short-term rentals, mostly hotels and motels."

Haynie says she is pleased with the revenue flow.

"It's great to close our fiscal year on this high note," she siad.
