Orlando International Airport examining security measures

Airport has no plans of taking any action after shooting at LAX

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando International Airport told Local 6 on Friday they had no plans of taking any action in the wake of the security checkpoint shooting at Los Angeles International Airport.

A spokeswoman said they were confident their security measures were already effective, but were reviewing them to make sure.

She said the incident in Los Angeles was an "isolated incident," so airport administrators didn't see any reason to heighten security.

As of 5 p.m. on Friday, there were no delayed flights coming from Los Angeles to Orlando, but there could be some later in the evening as some of the delayed flights depart LAX, she said.

Nearly 45,000 passengers pass through the security checkpoints each Friday at Orlando International Airport, according to airport records.
