Orlando man charged with 2 counts of first-degree murder

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A man wanted in Orlando for fatally shooting two people and injuring another was arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina, on two counts of first-degree murder, U.S. marshals said.

David Junior Lopez was also arrested on one count of attempted murder. Authorities said the crimes happened Tuesday in the Orlando area.

Ron Williams, 32, and Amanda Johnson, 27, died in the shooting, which happened at the Misty Oaks Apartments. Another woman was also shot and wounded, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation revealed Lopez was in the Mecklenburg County area after his vehicle was found Friday evening. Authorities said Lopez was later found at the home at 2534 Marlowe Ave. in Charlotte.

Lopez was arrested and taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail, pending further court proceedings. Deputies said investigators are currently not seeking any additional suspects.
