Orlando police chase wrong car, arrest man on outstanding warrant

Carjacking suspect still at large, police say

PINE HILLS, Fla. – An Orlando police pursuit for a carjacking suspect early Thursday morning led to officers chasing and stopping the wrong car--and arresting the man.

Police said they were responding to a carjacking report in Pine Hills when they spotted a car matching the vehicle description and started pursuing it. When the driver wouldn't pull over, police said they used stop sticks to flatten his tires.

When the car crashed on John Young Parkway and Silver Star Road, officers realized it was the wrong person, but arrested the man anyways on an outstanding warrant for drug charges, police said.

The carjacking suspect is still at large.
