Orlando police: Missing 84-year-old woman found safe

Woman found safe, currently at Shands Hospital, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman who went missing Wednesday and was in need of medication has been found after leaving an Orlando hospital.

Orlando police say Patricia Greenier, 84, was last seen leaving Florida Hospital with two women.

Greenier left the hospital on her will, then travelled to Gainesville and arrived at Shands Hospital where she is safe, according to police.

Police initially deemed Greenier's disappearance as "suspicious."

"I didn't know she was missing and I'm very concerned because she needs to be on her medication," said neighbor Kristina Kratz, who says Greenier has heart problems and uses a wheelchair to get around.

"She's a sweet caring person, she always needed help and that's what scares me the most," Kratz said.

Neighbors tell Local 6 Greenier lived alone and would rent out rooms in her house to strangers--Kratz said she was uneasy about.

"She would always find these people and it scares me because that's why I think she's missing because she always allows random people in her house," she said.

Police announced shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday that Greenier was located and is safe.
