ORLANDO, Fla. -

A SWAT team on Wednesday swarmed an Orlando house in connection with an earlier carjacking in which police officers shot and killed a man, but no one was inside.

Local 6 helicopter Sky 6 showed police blocking off the area surrounding 4513 College Drive and a tank rolling up to the scene.  Some time later, however, the scene was cleared and no arrests were made.  Neighbors say the home is vacant, but deputies have not confirmed if no one lives there.

Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jeff Williamson said detectives are looking into the possibility that the victim, a deliveryman, was lured to the home and carjacked.

Orlando police said the deliveryman, who was driving a Monte Carlo and working for New Texas Fried Chicken & Pizza, was carjacked around 2:30 a.m.  According to police, the victim flagged down an officer on nearby Ivey Lane, saying three gunmen had carjacked him.

Other officers were assisting with the investigation in the 4400 block of Malibu Street when the alleged car thieves rammed the officers' vehicles and got out of the stolen Monte Carlo, said police, who added that two officers opened fire, killing one of the three gunmen.

The other two culprits got away, said police, who only described the assailants only as black men.  A search for the duo is ongoing.

No officers were injured.

Leo Coleman, who lives nearby, said he heard six or seven gunshots, but police haven't confirmed how many shots were fired.

"When I looked out my bedroom window, I saw the car go that way and the next thing I know, police (were) here," Coleman said.  "It's  too close by for comfort.  I hope they catch the other two guys because it's kind of crazy."

Orlando police said all three men were armed, one with a rifle or long gun and the other two with handguns.

Per standard procedure, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the officer-involved shooting, and the officers who discharged their service weapons will be placed on administrative leave.
