Orlando recognized as a top travel destination
City Beautiful ranks 5th among U.S. cities
Orlando has been recognized as being one of the top travel destinations in the United States, receiving one of the 2013 Travelers' Choice Destinations awards.
This is the fifth year TripAdvisor has recognized 412 destinations in 38 markets across the globe. The awards are chosen based on reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor travelers. Orlando ranks fifth among 25 American cities.
“Based on insights from millions of travelers from around the world, the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards help identify the most highly rated and loved vacation spots,” Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, said on Wednesday. “The awards highlight 412 winners worldwide and these impressive destinations offer something unique for every traveler type to help them plan their next perfect trip.”
Other cities in the U.S. honored with the award include San Francisco, Chicago and Las Vegas. New York City is ranked No. 1.
An international award is also given to the Top 25 Travelers' Choice World Destinations. New York City and San Francisco are the only American cities included in this category.
