Osceola County teacher charged with beating wife, deputies say

Poinciana High School teacher had previous run-ins with law, records show

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – An Osceola County teacher has been arrested after his wife claimed he spent all of Wednesday beating her.

Thomas Vacek, 55, a teacher at Poinciana High School, was arrested on battery charges Wednesday night.

Deputies said when they got to Vacek's house Vacek told them his wife, Bianca, had taken a bunch of pills and attempted suicide.

When they questioned her she told them she took pills because Vacek had been beating her all day and she was severely bruised, according to the investigative report. She also told deputies Vacek gets violent when he drinks and that she tried to overdose on the pills to get herself out of the situation.

Deputies said Vacek told them his wife was crazy. He was booked into Osceola County Jail and bonded out on Thursday night.

Records show Vacek and his wife were accused of burning a child with a lighter in 2012. He was also accused of sexual misconduct with children before, though he was exonerated of those sex charges.
