PENSACOLA, Fla. – A group of parents say they have a device that could prevent child deaths in hot cars.
After several brainstorming sessions, the group in Pensacola sought out the advice of Eddie Fray, who has already come up with few inventions.
Using existing technology, Fray came up with the Guardian Cam.
Each time the ignition is turned on or off, or the key is removed, the Guardian Cam takes pictures of the car's back seat.
A data bank embedded within the car's security system is scanned and when a child is detected, it triggers an alarm.
The alarm does not stop until the child is removed from the car.
Fray has a copyright pending.
Since the start of 2014, 21 children have died from heatstroke after being left in cars, according to a report released by San Francisco State University.
