Pay-by-face authentication system could be coming
Using facial recognition for payment authentication
Forget credit cards-- you could soon be using your face to pay for purchases.
According to the Huffington Post, Finnish start up Uniqul has released a YouTube video about their new product, a pay-by-face authentication system.
How it will work: when you approach checkout counters, you would nod to the scanner. The scanner would then use your biometric information to identify you. You then click 'OK' on the screen, and the funds for your purchase would be taken from your account.
Supporters said because human faces are unique, computers are able to distinguish them from other people.
Uniqul said right now they are working on finalizing the product for a potential launch in Helsinki. So far, it is not known whether the product has been bought or approved for use.
