Pedestrian attempting to cross road struck by vehicle, Cocoa police say

Man attempted to cross south on Dixon Boulevard, police say

COCOA, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road in Cocoa, police said.

It happened at 9:15 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Dixon Boulevard.

Investigators determined the driver of a small SUV was traveling west on Dixon Boulevard when the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who is described as being 50 to 60 years-old, police said.

The man was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Police said he was listed in critical condition.

Investigators were interviewing witnesses and attempting to confirm what led up to the incident, police said.
