Pedestrian dead after being hit by three vehicles, troopers say

Man identified as Rasheed Wiggins, 39

ORLANDO, Fla. – A pedestrian was run over and killed by three different vehicles; only the last car stopped.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that Rasheed Wiggins, 39, of Orlando, was standing in the grassy median attempting to cross Universal Boulevard and Destination Parkway when he was hit by an unknown vehicle, which threw him into the middle of the roadway.

Troopers said that a second unknown vehicle ran over Wiggins, followed by a third vehicle, a Town & County taxi cab, driven Fito Pierre, 47, of Orlando, Fito did not see Wiggens in the road; he was the only person to stop, troopers said.

The accident report states that the first vehicle was described as a newer, white passenger vehicle, and the second described as an older, white passenger vehicle with a female driver.

Wiggins was an assistant brand manager in the marketing department at the Darden corporate office.

Everyone at Darden is deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy," a company representative said in a statement. "Rasheed was a valued team member who will be missed by all, especially those who worked closest with him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Kimberly, and all of his family and friends during this difficult time.

An anchor for Orlando news station FOX 35 wrote on her Facebook page that Wiggins is the husband of former FOX 35 reporter Kimberly Wiggins.
