Pedestrian injured in Sanford hit-and-run

SANFORD, Fla. - A pedestrian was struck Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash in Sanford, police said.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on State Road 600 near Lake Mary Boulevard.

According to police, a dark blue midsize passenger car traveling south on S.R. 600 hit a pedestrian crossing the road. 

The driver left the scene without stopping, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The car is missing the driver's side mirror and is believed to have damage to the front of the vehicle, on the driver's side, Sanford police said.
