A new bill is being considered in the House that would let pet owners buy tickets for their cats and dogs on Amtrak trains.

The "Pets on Trains Act" of 2013 would allow pet dogs and cats in crates on Amtrak trips, as long as they are less than 750 miles.

You would have to pay a fee and sit in a pet-friendly car.

The bill is due for a vote soon in the House, and then will be taken up for debate in the Senate.
