ORLANDO, Fla. – Are you missing something fuzzy and cute in your life? Many cats and dogs can fill that need and are in need of good homes.

The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is one of the oldest and largest animal welfare agencies, serving the area. The agency started out as the Orlando Humane Society in 1937.

The Orlando Humane Society merged with the Humane Society of Seminole County in 2001 to become the SPCA of Central Florida. In 2014, the SPCS of Central Florida underwent leadership changes in an effort to transform the role of animal shelters in the region by working outside the facility to engage the community with the responsibility of caring for animals. With that change, the organization became the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

The agency houses and takes care of the medical needs of its animals, but the one thing that the agency can't supply by itself, is a good home.
