Pit bull attacks owner, charges at Orange County deputies

Deputies: Man taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injury

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A pit bull attacked a 54-year-old man and charged at deputies who were attempting to help, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrived at 516 Gerard Ave. at 9:52 p.m. Friday after a report about a pit bull that became aggressive toward its owners.

The Sheriff's Office said after the pit bull attacked its owner and charged at deputies, a deputy fired a shot at the pit bull and the dog retreated.

Deputies said the man was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

Animal Services was called to assist, deputies said.
