Police are looking for armed robbery suspect of local Winn Dixie

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding an armed robbery suspect who is accused of robbing a Winn Dixie store on Hiawassee Road.

Police said the man robbed the Winn Dixie at 5732 North Hiawassee Road after 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

A female employee was working at the service counter when the suspect approached her and demanded money.

The employee complied, and the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money, the sheriff’s office said.

"We are taking this matter very seriously because the safety of our customers and associates is our highest priority. We are grateful that no one was injured in this incident and we thank the Orange County Sheriff's Office for their quick response," Zack Bingham, Southeastern Grocers Senior Director of Communications.

The suspect is described as wearing a black button-up dress shirt, dark-colored pants, white sneakers, a blue baseball cap with an unknown white emblem on the crown, large-framed black sunglasses and a white medical style mask, authorities said.
