Police arrest 1 in fatal Sanford car shooting

Dorian Calloway charged with death of 18-year-old girl

SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man on Friday who they say is responsible for the shooting that killed an 18-year-old girl and injured two other people last week.

Dorian Calloway, 23, was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants in burglaries across Central Florida, according to police. When he was arrested on August 2, police found the rifle that was used in the shooting on 14th Street and Oleander Avenue.

Pernecia, KeAmber Jones died in the shooting. Javon Roberts, 19, was treated and released from the hospital.

Calloway has been charged with one count of second degree murder, one count of aggravated battery and one count of firing into an occupied motor vehicle. He is being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
