Police arrest 2 in Cocoa Beach slaying

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – Cocoa Beach police on Tuesday arrested two men investigators suspect killed Bryan Omar Guerra Martinez about a month ago at Fawlty Towers Resort Motel.

Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports Alex J. Dumont, 23, was taken into custody on a warrant for first-degree premeditated murder and robbery with a firearm.

The Cocoa man was called to the Brevard County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division in Rockledge to discuss an unrelated matter and was taken into custody on the murder charge when he arrived.

Sheriff's agents said they were investigating a previous case involving Dumont.

Police searched Dumont's home on Slippery Rock Drive in Cocoa, where Kyle Patrick Berard, 24, also lives.

They questioned Berard and charged with being a principal in the first degree for premeditated murder and robbery with a firearm.

Martinez was found dead in Room 114 on June 28, killed by "numerous" gunshot wounds, according to police.
