Sources tell Local 6 the ship actually had to turn around, so the child could be flown to Arnold Palmer Hospital. The boy was taken on a stretcher, treated and loaded onto a helicopter.

Royal Caribbean Cruises told Local 6 the 14 month old guest from India traveling on Monarch of the Seas was initially treated in their medical facility, but required additional and urgent medical attention that could only be provided in a hospital.

Officials from the cruise line said the ship turned around and returned to Port Canaveral, where they could debark the guest and their family so that the child could receive urgent medical care.

Royal Caribbean said their care team is providing support and assistance to the guest's family.

Royal Caribbean officials said, "Our thoughts are with their family, and we will continue to do our very best to assist them."
