Police dispatcher accused of sexually touching young girl

Dispatcher with Kissimmee police charged with lewd, lascivious battery on child

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A local police department has one of its own arrested for sexually touching a young girl.

Local 6 has learned the relationship allegedly started with text messages and then turned into much more and Lake County Sheriff's deputies believe there are more victims out there.

Travis Crews, 23, a dispatcher with the Kissimmee Police Department, has been charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a child between the ages of 12 and 15.

The child and her mother came to the Lake County Sheriff's Office on Thursday and told them about an inappropriate relationship between her and Crews.

The child told deputies that for months Crews had been sending her pictures of his private parts via text message and even told her he loved her.

The victim also told deputies that Crews sexually touched her in July.

Once detectives confronted Crews with the allegations, he admitted to sending her pictures of his private parts and kissing her while knowing she was underage.

Jean Cheek lives just down the street from Crews and says that he kept to himself inside his home on Bryan Avenue.

"It's hard to comprehend somebody doing something like that," said Cheek. "I can't believe it. To look at him, he looks like a nice young man."

Lake County deputies also say that Crews admitted to having another inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl and said they will be investigating throughout the weekend.

Kissimmee police has suspended Crews pending the result of the criminal investigation. They also have opened their own internal investigation.
