Police: Driver that caused 6-car crash in Apopka sought

1 taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition

APOPKA, Fla. – Police are on the lookout for a driver that caused a six-car crash in Apopka, with one person taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Apopka police said a car was stopped Friday night near the intersection of State Road 436 and Piedmont-Wekiva Road.

The car then sped away, possibly during a pursuit, according to police, causing a crash involving six cars.

The driver of the suspect vehicle then got out of the vehicle and ran on foot from the scene.

Police said the search for the driver remains ongoing.

One person was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
