Police have potential break in slaying of Sanford store owner

Vigil held for Joshua Hurr

SANFORD, Fla. – Sanford police say a woman seen in surveillance video before a deadly shooting has come forward.

Police hope the woman has information about the death of Joshua Hurr, 64, who was shot and killed outside Kim's Food Market in December.

Dozens of family and friends turned out Tuesday night to honor Hurr. Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith also attended the vigil.

"This code of silence, this fear, closing eyes to things taking place when you know who the individuals are, this is just another example of the violence that's taking place in our community, where people don't want to come forward and assist us," Smith said.

Police continue to look for two men also seen in surveillance video, but officials stressed that they are not suspects in the shooting.
