PALM BAY, Fla. - A 26-year-old Palm Bay man remained in jail Christmas Day after police said he pushed his way into a home and wrestled a bank card from his mother before fleeing.
Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports Andrew Huggins was charged with strong arm robbery, theft and fraud over the weekend after Palm Bay Police were called to a home in the 1600 block of San Diego to investigate a disturbance.
He remains held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on a $19,000 bond, records show.
A judge Sunday barred him from seeing his mother as a condition of his release and that he also be fitted with a monitoring device as a condition of any release from jail, records show.
Police said Huggins had returned to the home Saturday and stormed his way into the home while his father was away and grabbed the bank card from his mother.
Officers used police dogs to track his scent and located him hiding beneath a pile of blankets in a neighbor's garage. He was arrested and taken to the Brevard County Jail Com
