DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -

Police are searching for two men who robbed a Daytona Beach jewelry store, and escaped despite a botched getaway.

Police said two armed men entered Showcase Jewelry on South Nova Road on Saturday, pistol whipped the clerk and ransacked the store.

Detectives tell Local 6 the two men drove a stolen car to the robbery and parked it inside a nearby car wash. But, when they returned to the car after committing the crime, police say they discovered they had locked the keys inside.

Surveillance video released by police shows the men bashing the cars windows to try and get inside. One man eventually used a cinder block to smash a window. Police say the car was later found abandoned.
