OCALA, Fla. -

Ocala police are hoping a Polaroid picture will lead to answers in the mystery surrounding the theft of a large safe.

Police say a witness driving in the area of Northwest 14th Street saw flames in the woods and called 911.

When officers arrived they found a badly burned, single door Heritage floor safe. Police believe the thief used a torch to cut into the bottom of the safe.

Officers found a Polaroid picture lying next to the safe. A man in a camouflage outfit is seen standing in front of a small home with a chimney.

Police are asking the public for help identifying the person in the picture or the owner of the safe. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jeff Hurst at (352) 629-8429.
