ORLANDO, Fla. – An armed man acting suspicious was tased by police and arrested in Orlando after police say he tried to run from them on a golf cart.
Detectives say 22-year-old Nick Navarro was spotted driving the cart near the intersection of Land Tree Street and Boggy Creek Road around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
When an Orlando police officer pulled Navarro over and tried to search him, Navarro ran, detectives say, adding that Navarro led police on a quarter-mile foot chase before an officer shocked him with a stun gun.
According to an arrest report, police then noticed a gun tucked into Navarro's shirt and shocked him a second time before recovering a .38-caliber revolver.
Navarro was booked in the Orange County Jail on charges of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer, simple assault and intimidation.
Police don't know how Navarro obtained the golf cart.
