Although the Republican and Democratic parties are often at odds, especially during election season, there are a couple of experiences which really bring everyone together.

I think it's fair to say that every President is acutely aware that we are just temporary residents - we are renters here.
IT'S A FLIP OF THE COIN WHETHER THE LEASE WILL RUN OUT FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA IN NOVEMBER... BUT WHAT WON'T RUN OUT IS THE RESPECT AMONGST CURRENT AND FORMER WHITE HOUSE RESIDENTS.
George, you went out of your way - to make sure that the transition to a new administration was as seamless as possible.
FORMER PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AND HIS WIFE, LAURA BUSH JOINED THE OBAMAS IN THE WHITE HOUSE FOR THE OFFICIAL UNVEILING OF THEIR PORTRAITS WHICH WILL HANG WITH THE OTHER 42 FORMER COMMANDERS-IN-CHIEF.
Mr. President, when you are wondering these halls as you wrestle with tough decisions, you will now be able to gaze at this portrait and ask, what would George do?
BOTH PRESIDENT CRACKED JOKES... AND FOR A FEW MINUTES THEY LEFT CAMPAIGNING ASIDE AND WERE ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY.
You also left me a really good TV sports package. I use it.
THE TONE WAS MARKEDLY DIFFERENT THAN MANY OF THE PRESIDENT'S SPEECHES, WHERE HE BLAMES THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION FOR THE NATION'S ECONOMIC PROBLEMS.
