An 11-year-old Rochester, Minnesota student -- was excused from class Friday so he could see President Obama at Honeywell.
But he got something else, too.
Dave Berggren explains...
--REPORTER PKG-AS FOLLOWS --
"I was sitting in the front row in the VIP area."
11 YEAR OLD TYLER SULLIVAN WASN'T AT SCHOOL...
I was pretty excited...
(NATS) INSTEAD HE WAS AT HONEYWELL IN GOLDEN VALLEY WITH HIS DAD LISTENING TO THE PRESIDENT.
THE PRESIDENT CARES ABOUT THE UNITED STATES, MORTGAGE AND TAXES.
HE ALSO CARES ABOUT SCHOOL ATTENDANCE. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING HIS SPEECH TYLER HAD A CHANCE TO SHAKE HANDS WITH THE PRESIDENT.
"I said hi president and then..he started asking my questions and he said you must be out of school."
PRESIDENT OBAMA THEN REACHED FOR A PRESIDENTIAL PAD OF PAPER AND A PRESIDENTIAL PEN..AND WROTE OUT AND OFFICIAL EXCUSED ABSENCE NOTE.
"I was like really! He's gonna really write me an excuse note!? I didn't really think he was gonna do that!"
"To Mr. Ackerman, Tyler?"
TYLER'S HAS HAD AUTOGRAPHS BEFORE BUT THIS IS ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL.
"I feel like I got the autograph from the president on a note..seriously?! ..i kinda wanna brag at school and tell em..look at what I got!
SOMETHING THAT SMALL GOES A LONG WAY..
NOW HE HOPES HIS PRESIDENTIAL TALE HOLDS UP.
I'm planning on bringing this to my teacher Mr. Ackerman in Rochester and say..this is why I missed school on friday.
"are you guys super tight, super close? Oh yeah.."
