Lawsuit claims Clinton won Florida, not Trump

Voters want ballots recounted by hand

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A lawsuit filed in Central Florida claims that if it weren't for hacking, malfunctioning voting machines and other Election Day issues, Hillary Clinton would have won Florida instead of Donald Trump.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Leon Circuit Court by plaintiffs who live in Osceola and Volusia counties, asks that every ballot in the state be recounted by hand at the expense of the defendants, --  identified as Trump, Gov. Rick Scott and the 29 Republican presidential electors from Florida.

Orlando attorney Clint Curtis, who is representing the plaintiffs, acknowledged that the defendants might ignore the lawsuit or fail to respond before the Electoral College meets on Dec. 19.

“We are getting a deluge of voters who were declined the right to vote,” Curtis said.

Florida put Trump at 4.6 million votes and Secretary Hillary Clinton at 4.4 million, a difference of 112,000.

Curtis told News 6 he believes computer hacking is behind this election.

Experts say hacking can be done on a touch screen and even on a scanner, the popular method at most Florida polling sites.

“They find out who votes, where they vote, when they vote and then you can select people you can insert into the voting process that don’t usually vote,” Curtis told News 6. “ So the people that show up to vote are marked as voted even though they didn’t.”

Curtis said the lawsuit isn’t politically motivated, but is about the integrity of the voting process.
